Integrative Medicine

What is Integrative Medicine?
Integrative medicine is a healthcare philosophy that focuses on individualised patient care. It combines the strengths of conventional Western medicine with evidence-based traditional and complementary therapies. The approach emphasises the importance of the relationship between the practitioner and the patient, focusing on the whole person. It is grounded in scientific evidence and utilises a wide range of therapeutic methods, healthcare professionals, and disciplines to achieve the best possible health outcomes and healing.

Integrative medicine considers the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual well-being of an individual and aims to use the safest, most effective, evidence-based treatments available.

What is an Integrative Medical Practitioner?
An integrative medical practitioner is a professional who:

  • Has completed education at accredited universities, meeting Australian standards for medical care and knowledge, including the ability to self-regulate their practice and apply scientific principles to medicine.

  • Has received training in Australian hospitals and medical colleges, including in general practice and specialised fields.

  • Complies with ongoing criteria for continuing medical education to maintain high-quality practice and registration.

  • Adheres to the Medical Board of Australia's (MBA) approved code of conduct, as outlined in Good Medical Practice, as part of their registration.

  • Actively seeks additional training in health modalities that complement their medical knowledge to improve patient outcomes.

  • Practices no differently from their colleagues, except for their holistic, integrative approach to medicine and broader range of treatment options.

At Foundations Clinic, we adopt an integrative approach to address the full spectrum of health needs. Our focus is on understanding the underlying causes of health concerns rather than just treating symptoms, integrating modern scientific methods with established therapeutic practices.

Our Integrative Medicine services offer a comprehensive range of diagnostic and treatment options to assess and address your health concerns. Whether you are managing chronic conditions, seeking preventive care, or wanting to optimise your overall health, our aim is to provide you with the tools and knowledge to take control of your well-being.

By considering physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors, Integrative Medicine aims to support the body’s natural healing processes, enhancing long-term health and vitality. At Foundations Clinic, Dr Ravi, Brendan and Leah work collaboratively with you to develop a personalised treatment plan that combines the strengths of both conventional and complementary medical approaches for a thorough and effective pathway to wellness.
